Bright Emerald Green Chebeague Island Wedding

Chebeague Island Ceremony

After 10 years together, Max and Charlotte hosted an island wedding in Maine on August 2021 after having to postpone their original celebration in 2020. Charlotte and Max met after college in their hometown of the Virgin Islands. After years of living in the continental US, Max proposed to Charlotte in St. Thomas while visiting their families and announced the exciting news while visiting Charlotte’s’ parents home. The Virgin Islands is a special part of Charlotte and Max’s love story and became the foundation of our inspiration for their wedding design.

When asked what they envisioned for their wedding day, they wanted a design that was historic and rustic to represent the culture, and history of the Virgin Islands along with good cocktails and providing a quintessential Maine weekend for their guests. The emerald green with small pops of color in pinks and oranges paid homage to the beautiful botanicals of the Caribbean and the small touch of berries represented the first time Charlotte and Max visited Chebeague Island and was drawn to the rose hips on the island. Charlotte was escorted down the aisle by both her parents and wanted to find an alternative to holding a bouquet while walking down the aisle. Cue the extraordinary floral garland created by Of The Fields Floral. The bonus… we were able to reuse the garland at their sweetheart table for all to appreciate for the duration of the evening. We’re hoping to see more of this alternative trend.

The Chebeague Island Inn was the perfect backdrop for their intimate wedding. This bright yellow waterfront property has a wrap around deck, with stunning views of the bay, and 21 rooms for guests to celebrate together all weekend. They provided games including croquet and corn hole for guests to use at their leisure throughout the weekend. Charlotte and Max’s ceremony took place on the front lawn with a magical backdrop of the ocean.

For dessert, affogatos were prepared by a local gelato company, Gelato Fiasco, giving their evening an extra special touch! For those who aren’t familiar, affogatos is a coffee based dessert where gelato is topped with espresso and we highly suggest trying it!
